Massage therapy is the manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons, and ligaments) to enhance a person’s health and wellbeing.

Therapeutic Massage - focuses on resolving a client’s specific complaint and often utilizes modalities such as cupping, active and passive muscle release, joint mobilization techniques, and remedial exercises.

Maintenance Massage - for general pain and stiffness caused by activities of daily living, chronic illness, or injury (pain management).

Relaxation or Swedish Massage - has an intent of relaxation. Majority of techniques used stimulate blood flow and promote overall decreased muscle tension.

If wanting to focus on one area, booking less time is recommended. Cupping is an ancient form of therapy where cups are placed on the skin to decompress tissue with the intent to increase mobility in muscle and fascia, move lymph, and enhance the body’s own healing process, thus decreasing musculoskeletal pain and increasing joint range of motion. Cupping is an ancient form of therapy where cups are placed on the skin to decompress tissue with the intent to increase mobility in muscle and fascia, move lymph, and enhance the body’s own healing process, thus decreasing musculoskeletal pain and increasing joint range of motion. Due to the suction, this can leave a circular mark (similar to the colouring of a bruise) the shape of the cup on the area.

Alexandra graduated from Wellington College in 2016. She would go on to work at a multidisciplinary wellness centre for 5 years. During her time there, she develop a skill for helping clients injured in motor vehicle accidents, injuries common with athletes, and people dealing with chronic pain.

Alex’s intent during her sessions are to provide a quality assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation plan to return the client back to activities of daily living without pain or discomfort.

Although direct billing is not available, a receipt will be provided so you can be reimbursed by your insurance company.
